This class will be like a “trouble shooting” evaluation class. Designed to help you fine-tune your skills & think of ways to take your dancing to a new level. Been in a rut for a while? Not sure what to work in terms of the infamous question of “how do I get better?” Join us in this class where we explore the what, why, how, huh, umm, and “oh snap” moments that make us all human. A class to motivate you and show you where you can take your dancing. 1 on 1 feedback from peers & instructors.
S.O.S – Swingout Polishing (Beg/Int) 11:00 – 12:15 - Pinar & Jamie
No matter how long you have danced & no matter how many classes you have taken, you will always come back to the SWINGOUT! It is like the Holy Grail in Lindy Hop. Why? Because it is complex & it is unique & it is constantly evolving. So, keep up with the times & or create your own thing, but keep in mind that there are fine techniques & ideas that these teachers want to share with you to help your Swingout look good and feel like butter. We want you to be one of those dancers that people say, “damn, look at his/her SWINGOUT! Pinar & Jamie are ready to give you useful tips on how to make things “click.”
Edgie Moves & Out of the Box Concepts (Int./Adv) 12:30 – 1:45 – Jay & Carla

Come ready to work hard & learn some interesting things that make you go hmmmm! Jay & Carla have some great things cooked up for you. Please come with an open mind & ready to have a blast. This is not for new dancers, but for very seasoned dancers. Come learn some of Jay & Carla’s favorites!

Smooth out how you move within Charleston & make it flow better and feel better for your partner. Followers, learn the importance of staying on rhythm with your leader & leaders learn how to invite the follower into your Charleston rhythm. Find the missing links in your Charleston such as Hand-2-hand transitions, kick-throughs, The Chase, & more….
Improv 101 - 2:30 - 3:45 – Jay & Carla
~ How to affect changes in direction & motion without taking over the lead.
Utilize what your partner gives you and add to it.
We will start off the class with a bunch of drills for finding better connection, centering, balancing, and enhancing quality of movement. Then we will proceed to use concrete examples on how to positively "affect" your partner while still leading & following! How to increase the communication skills within your own body but still keep control We hope this class will inspire you to think outside of the box by providing useful tools on how to move your body more and with more precision and purpose! We feel that all of you are oozing with creative ideas and just need a little encouragement on how to get them out of you!! Hey, we have all been there, believe me.
